Scroll down for references and see 2008-24
A draft of 'Brave New Europe?'
was sent to the Labour Party, The Conservative Party, the UK
Independence Party and the Liberal Democrats asking for their
comments and if there was anything in it with which they disagreed.
The only party to respond was UKIP who confirmed it accurately
portrayed to EU situation.
I would also like to refer you to a
number of supportive letters and comments received:
".....the pamphlets make
many good points that are all fair." Dr Eamonn Butler - director
of The Adam Smith Institute.
"....your analysis is
spot on" - Lord Willoughby De Broke, House of Lords
"....your pamphlet is
well argued " Tony Benn ex Labour Party Minister
"…this pamphlet
is by far the simplest and clearest analysis of the European Union
and its aims I have yet seen. Everything in it is valid" - Nigel
Spearing - Labour Party MP for over 28 years, member of the House of
Commons Select Committee on Europe for over 18 years and chairman for
8 years.
"This is a very
dangerous document. It should not be read by the general public"
- a very angry Europhile bureaucrat who, sadly, would not give his
name. A ringing endorsement indeed of this pamphlet.
In
addition to the above a member of the public in Cumbria arranged, at
his own expense, for a copy to be sent to every MP in Westminster
asking them for their comments. Not a single objection whatsoever,
nor adverse comment, about the contents has been received after more
than 6 months

A CRUNCH vote on sweeping changes to financial regulation
in Europe has been
delayed amid accusations of a secret attempt to
shift power from London and
Paris to Frankfurt.
The
European Parliament has pushed back a decision on the workings of
three
super-watchdogs until September after 11th-hour tweaks to
the legislation
caused a furore among member states. Amendments
slipped into the document
last Thursday include moving the
headquarters of all three super-regulators
to Germany, away from
Britain and France, and giving the new entities power
to overrule
their local counterparts such as the Financial Services
Authority
or the Bank of England.
The trio of agencies will control
oversight of Europe’s banking, insurance
and financial
instruments industries. They have been the subject of
controversy
since they were unveiled by the European Commission (EC)
last
year.
Sven Giegold, a German MEP involved in
negotiations between the parliament
and individual countries, said
the session had been postponed to allow more
time to thrash out
how much authority the super-watchdogs would have.
However, it is
understood the parliament will still effectively rubber-stamp
the
meat of the text today – including the push to create a
regulatory hub
in Frankfurt.
Godfrey Bloom, a UK
Independence Party MEP who joint-coordinates Brussels’
economic and monetary affairs committee, said: “This is a
fundamental
movement of regulation away from the UK. Europe wants
to break the power of
the City of London and this is all part of
that strategy.”
A Treasury spokesperson said the
government opposed the European
parliament’s attempt to move
the planned banking super-regulator from London
to
Frankfurt.
Andrew Tyrie, the Conservative chair of the
Treasury select committee,
added: “Britain has massive
interests in the way the City is regulated from
continental
Europe. It is vital the coalition government fights its corner
as
it promised in the election.”
Syed Kamall, a
Conservative MEP, said there was still time for Britain to
negotiate
the ability to veto super-regulators in extreme circumstances.
The
spat over quiet alterations to the financial reform law will
fuel
concerns a rushed lawmaking process will damage the Square
Mile. José Manuel
Barroso, head of the EC, has set a tough
deadline of next January to have
the system of super-regulators up
and running.
He said yesterday: “It would be very
difficult to explain to our partners in
the G20 that we who were
the first to start the process [of overhaul] cannot
be the first
to complete it.”

2008-30 What, and who, are the 'Political Elite' and the EU 'Higher Authority’?
The Higher Authority and the Political Elite are a self appointed, unelected, self defining, cross party coterie that believes that they should rule the rest of us by some sort of pre-ordained divine right.
By what collective noun can we call this Higher Authority, their compliant administrators and the self defining Political Elite? Can anyone suggest an better alternative to this.
Nomnik would seem a suitable name as it derives from the Russian word ‘nomenklatura’ This denoted an enumeration of important positions and the candidates who were examined, recommended, and assigned to fill them at various levels by Soviet Communist Party committees.
The Nomenclatura were, without exception, members of the Communist Party in the old Soviet Union.
The Nomniks, of course, also include the European Commission and the UK supporters of the undemocratic EU who are in positions of authority.
Their fundamental creed is - 'We shall tell the public what they can do, when they can do it, how they can do it and where they can do it. If they don’t agree then that is proof positive that the public are not fit to decide anything for themselves'.
Do you think that there is any similarity between the unelected Soviet Polit Bureau, the Nomenklatura and the unelected European Commission, the Political Elite and the compliant executive civil servants of the UK and Europe?
In the UK, whether its the Cameroonies or the Milibandits, they could all smoothly interchange with either political party without any noticeable effect.

An apology to UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage MEP has been published by The Sunday Times following allegations made against Mr Farage by the paper in February. The newspaper says: "Our report 'Anti-Brussels MEP, Nigel Farage, pays son from EU funds', February 24, wrongly stated that Nigel Farage, leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP), had used taxpayers' money to employ his son as his assistant. The report suggested, again wrongly, that as an opponent of the EU 'gravy train' Mr Farage was also a hypocrite. We accept that there was no foundation for these statements and apologise to Mr Farage for any distress or embarrassment caused."

I was getting ready to take my son to the Olympic flame parade. My husband, Bruno, had phoned an hour before, making sure we would be there. We never made it to the parade, which turned into a kind of riot. My husband called me instead from the hospital. "I’ve been beaten up by the police," he said in a strange voice. "But I’m OK." Like most men, he underplayed the truth. He had not just been beaten up but stomped on, punched and thrown to the ground. They dislocated his shoulder and made his face look like a boxer’s.
The four policemen who did it were members of the special national riot police, the CRS, swaggering enforcers. "They are the dumbest and the strongest," is how one journalist friend describes them. Two held him back and two punched him out.

2007-49 The Dissolution of the UK and England
The dissolution of the UK, particularly England, and its absorption into a 'Greater Europe', is not the exclusive desire of one particular political party. It's the covert, cross-party aim of the political elite of the Labour, Conservative, Lib-Dems, Green parties and even the Scottish Nationalists – who want the contradiction of 'independence within the EU'.
This is in stark contrast to the wishes of the great majority of their party members and those who vote for them out of historical loyalty.
Why are the 'Political Elite' so keen for the UK to be taken over by the EU? A possible major reason is that under the EU electoral process individual MEPs do not have to be accountable to the electorate, only to their party.
You have to understand the difference between the UK system and the EU system.
Under British democracy any hopeful MP has to personally face the electorate and justify himself to them to get elected. The Political Elite and the Civil Service executives are 'servants of the people'. When the EU Agenda is fully implemented they will become 'Masters of the people'. Such a delicious prospect is irresistible.
In the EU the potential MEPs are pre-selected by their party before the election (the voters do not even need to know their names). The vote is for the party, not the MEP, and depending on the number of votes cast for that party the successful MEPs are taken from the top of the pre-selected list. The MEPs are effectively appointed not elected and thus can have their utopian dream of power and control without having to personally justify themselves to the voters. They will be able to avoid putting themselves through, as one ‘A Lister’ put it while observing at a recent By-election, “… this sordid and degrading business of having to grovel to the stupid, thick public just to get elected..." This will be certainly true of the established 'Elite' (who will always go to the top of the List) and is a quite tantalising promise held out to A Listers and backbenchers (hopeful A Listers) to keep them compliant. There will be no place for an individual or a maverick - only trusted party members and apparatchiks. For the unelected officials it will be easier for them to be even more remote from the people they are supposed to serve and even less responsible and accountable for their actions.
‘A Listing’ by the UK parties is a move towards the EU system of appointed MPs. An ‘A Lister’ is someone pre-selected by the political party HQ to have priority over any locally preferred candidate and to be fast tracked up through the political system. It is someone who ‘the party’ feel will be thoroughly subservient to the party and so be a trusted member to stay ‘on message’ in exchange for the mega-perks of being in the party system. Even ministers are being appointed from the ranks of the party acolytes who have not been elected. The actual party they are committed to often seems to be of no consequence as the major parties are steadily becoming indistinguishable from each other. They could quite easily be a Tory A Lister or a New Labour A Lister. The possibility of someone of an independent mind getting into parliament is thus prevented.

2007-48
At the same time as Gordon Brown was signing up UK to the EU Reform Treaty (Constitution) in Lisbon another group of EU countries quietly met in Holland . They formally approved an EU paramilitary force, as part of this EU Reform Treaty, to be known as ‘the European Gendarmarie Force’ EGF or Eurogendfor.
The EU Reform Treaty (Constitution) describes them as ‘a multinational police force with military status for both external and internal actions’. Under this agreement, the force will outrank any local police force when it goes about it’s duties. These duties will include “security and public order missions, public surveillance, traffic regulations, border policing and general intelligence work”. It is a fully fledged paramilitary police force that will have diplomatic status and all its activities will be treated as secret.
Once an operation has started in a ‘host’ country that country will have no jurisdiction over the activities of the EGF whatsoever.
Well just who on earth are they? You may well ask! Virtually no EU personnel in Brussels have ever heard of them either until they were stumbled upon by chance about a year ago. They are a paramilitary force, commanded by a Brigadier-General Gerard Deanez, and a rather shadowy group with a very sinister potential. The EGF seems to be modelled almost directly on the French Compagnies Républicaines de Sécurité (CRS). They were first established in 1944 to suppress any anti-German public demonstrations in Vichy France as the Nazis were clearly loosing the war by then. They were reorganised in 1948 and are still on active duty today but have maintained their original ethos. The CRS have, since then, earned a most unpleasant reputation for the uncompromising and very aggressive manner with which they suppress civil demonstrations and unrest. Once the final EU Reform Treaty (Constitution) is finally ratified we will lose our veto and they can then be deployed on the streets of Britain .

The rest of the Ministers of Europe agree that it is 95%+ the same as the Constitution.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2007-44 While all eyes are watching the European Constitution summit in Lisbon, a very different treaty has quietly been signed in Holland, where a group of EU countries approved the creation of a European Gendarmerie Force.
"What we have here
is a fully fledged paramilitary police force," says Gerard
Batten, UK Independence Party Euro MP and spokesman
on Home Affairs.
The treaty describes the organisation as a
"multinational police force with military status" and its
use is for "both external and internal actions".
What
is more, this force will outrank local police forces when it goes
about its duties, which include security and public order missions,
public surveillance, traffic regulations, border policing and general
intelligence work and "performing criminal investigation work,
including detecting offences, tracing offenders and transferring them
to the appropriate judicial authorities".

2007-40 Britain’s influence in the European Parliament.
The voting within the EU Parliament can be reasonably compared with the voting for the Euro-Vision Song Contest (see 2007-32). So what influence do we have there to defend Britain’s interests?
There are 785 MEPs of which 78 are British. This means that even if all of the UK MEPs vote as one they will have less than 10% influence. Considering that some two thirds of the Tory MEPs (many of whom spearhead a lot of the EU Agenda), most of the Labour MEPs, all of the Liberal MEPs consistently vote for the EU Agenda that only leaves the 10 UKIP MEPs and the small handful Tory and Labour mavericks to stand up for Britain’s interests. This makes our influence in the EU Parliament no more than about 3% at most. Despite this there is a common and naïve belief, against all the evidence, that the presence of your MEP in Brussels can influence the EU to change and reform itself.
It's just not possible for our MEPs to reform anything from within the impotent European Parliament – all power and control of any consequence rests with the unelected European Commission.
This sentence cannot be over-emphasized or repeated too often.
It's just not possible for our MEPs to reform anything from within the impotent European Parliament – all power and control of any consequence rests with the unelected European Commission.
UK MEPs have little enough influence in the E.Parl as it is and none whatsoever in the E.Commi. as the MEPs have absolutely no input into proposed EU Directives as these are exclusively prepared by unelected the European Commission for the EU Parliament to 'rubber stamp'.

2007-35 A little snippet from a House of Lords debate - very interesting what!
My Lords, if the noble Lord has a little patience, he will hear the kernel of my argument. Former (UK) Ministers do not lose their pensions if they fail to uphold the ongoing interests of the country. As I was saying, these noble Lords are proud of their careers in the plush and well remunerated conclaves of Brussels, but of course they are also—here I exonerate the noble Lord, Lord Hannay, if necessary—already in receipt of a generous EU pension, or are looking forward to one. Few people know that EU pensions are unusual in that holders of them can lose them if, in the opinion of the Commission and the Luxembourg court they "fail to uphold the interests of the European Communities".
One contributory reason for the wholly Euro-philic tone of today's debate may be that no fewer than 10 of the previous 22 speakers have been Members of the European Parliament or senior employees of the European Union.-(with EU pensions to protect)
Now isn't that a splendid way to keep them all 'on message'.

UK
payments to EU 'will double' By Ambrose Evans-Pritchard Last
Updated: 10:10pm BST 08/06/2007
Britain's net payments to
Brussels will double to £6.4bn within four years, according to
fresh figures from the Treasury, reflecting the country's rising
affluence and the cost of subsidies to Eastern Europe.
The chief
underlying cause is a summit deal struck by Tony Blair in December
2005 to slash the UK's rebate by exempting the new member states, in
perpetuity.
The data, uncovered by the think-tank Global Vision,
shows that Britain's average net payments will rise sharply from
£3.27bn a year over the last decade to around £6.4bn
during the period from 2011 to 2014.

The Sunday Telegraph says Tony Blair intends to use his remaining weeks in office to surrender British powers to Brussels. It is being seen as part of his drive for a European 'legacy' by senior Whitehall officials.

Why are the 'Political Elite' so keen for the UK to be taken over by the EU? Almost certainly a major reason is that under the EU electoral process individual MEPs do not have to be accountable to the electorate, only to their party.
You have to understand the difference between the UK system and the EU system.
Under British democracy the hopeful MP has to personally face the electorate and justify himself to them to get elected. The Political Elite and the Civil Service executives are 'servants of the people'. When the EU Agenda is fully implemented they will become 'Masters of the people'. Such a delicious prospect is irresistible.
The potential MEPs are pre-selected by their party before the election (the voters could well not even know their names). The vote is for the party, not the MEP, and depending on the number of votes cast for that party the successful MEPs are taken from the top of the pre-selected list. The MEPs are effectively appointed not elected and thus can have their utopian dream of power and control without having to personally justify themselves to the voters. They will be able to avoid putting themselves through, as one ‘A Lister’ was overheard to say at a recent By-election, “… the sordid and degrading business of having to grovel to the stupid, thick public just to get elected..." This will be certainly true of the established 'Elite' (who will always be chosen to be at the top of the List) and is a quite tantalising promise held out to ‘A Listers’ and backbenchers (hopeful ‘A Listers’) to keep them compliant.
(see www.theeuroprobe.org 2007-4 Chapter 10 & 15 The European Parliament
and 2009-5)
There is also the patronising attitude of so many of the political elite (and their apparatchiks) who believe absolutely that only they have the intelligence to tell us thickies what we can do and how we should live our lives. This EU system gives them the unrestricted opportunity to do so.
It seems like a movement to effectively isolate the general public from any significant political process and for it to be the exclusively the province of the ‘political elite’.

A Blockleiter (block leader) was the lowest official of the NSDAP (the Nazi Party but there was a similar group as well in Stalin's Socialist Soviet - ed). They were responsible for the political supervision of a neighbourhood or city block and formed the link between the NSDAP and the general population. Also colloquially known as a Blockwart (block attendant or warden), he was charged with planning, spreading propaganda and developing an acceptance to the policies of the NSDAP among the households (typically 40 to 60) in his area.
It was also the duty of the Blockleiter to spy on the population and report any anti-Nazi activities to the local office. This was helped by keeping files on each household. Other duties included allocating beds in homes for visiting NSDAP demonstrators, the collection of subscriptions and charitable donations especially for Winterhilfe and organising the clearing of rubble after air-raids. It is thought that there were nearly half a million Blockleiter.
Today, Blockwart is a colloquial German insult word for an informer.

32 page pamphlet giving an audit of the European Union Project. It consists of 49 very short chapters, usually no more than a couple of paragraphs, with references to this website where the original documents and references can be seen.
Complementary copies of this pamphlet have been sent to the Labour Party, The Conservative Party, the Lib. Dem. Party and UKIP. They were asked for their comments on any items with which they disagreed but if they were happy with the accuracy of the contents then no response would be necessary. Eurogendfor (EGF) – who on earth are they? You may well ask!
It seems that hardly any EU personnel in Brussels have heard of them either and they've only been stumbled upon by chance. They are the Euro Gendarmerie, a paramilitary force commanded by a Brigadier-General Gerard Deanez, and a rather shadowy group with a very sinister potential. The EGF seems to be modelled almost directly on the French Compagnies Républicaines de Sécurité (CRS) who were first established in 1944, reorganised in 1948 and still on active duty today (ref. 2006-98). The CRS have a most unpleasant reputation for the uncompromising and very aggressive manner with which they suppress civil demonstrations and unrest. 2006-59 Now that the meaning of 'Whiter than White' in Labour Nouveau politics is becoming ever more clear with the 'cash for honours' scandal - a couple of questions.
As Deputy Assistant Commissioner John Yates seems to be an 'honest copper who is not on message', not a 'whitewash merchant', he may well try to pursue this to its obvious conclusion.
How long will he last before he is removed from to inquiry due to something like 'emotional stress' or 'mental instability'?
Will it be decided that there has been 'technically' no case to answer?
But Labour Nouveau made the rules up to stop this sort of scam. Either they were so incompetent that they got it hopelessly wrong (yet again) or a convenient loophole was deliberately left in.
The EU principle of 'immunity from prosecution' for politicians and the executive is gradually creeping into the British administration and politics. Will this now be be formally invoked in this case?
We wait with bated breath.
Tony Blair has said that he cannot see anything wrong with giving 'honours' to those who give cash to the Labour Party. He has also said that if the Parties do not get their funds this way then the only alternative is for the taxpayer to shell out for them. Not so - surely the only way for political parties to fund themselves is from the party membership subscriptions.

There is a major crisis in the French wine industry due to the increasing excellence of the New World wines (and also the emerging English wines). So much so that the EU are rumoured to be considering a covert means of heavily subsidising the French wine industry. The main problem with French wine is that it is now seriously overpriced compared to these newcomers. Your Editor has carried out some extensive testing, on your behalf, to see how French wine can be improved. I can now say, with much conviction, that mixing a good French wine 50/50 with Coca-Cola significantly improves the flavour. This simple technique could be the saviour of their industry and save the EU a bundle.

future of EU referendums Published: Mon, 3 Jul 2006 11:09:51

A new EU constitution should not be
put to the people, European Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson has
insisted.
Germany will start the process to revive or redraft an
EU constitutional treaty following last year’s referendum
rejections in France and the Netherlands.
Mandelson is clear
that any new text can not be a hostage to democratic votes
- referendums in the UK, Denmark and Ireland were called off amid
concerns that more negative results would plunge the EU into deep
crisis.
“Anything that crosses the threshold of requiring a
referendum will immediately run into difficulties,” he told
E!Sharp magazine.

Four quotes of Tony Blair - from the book by Vernon Coleman 'The Truth They Won't Tell You About The EU' . It will give you a very good understanding of what the European Union Project is all about and is well worth a read.
1. ‘Above
all, the European Economic Community takes away Britain’s
freedom to follow the sort of economic policies we need.’
Tony Blair, 1982
2. 'We’ll negotiate a
withdrawal from the EEC which has drained our natural resources and
destroyed jobs.’ Tony Blair, 1983
‘3.
On the day we remember the legend that St. George slayed a dragon to
protect England, some would argue that there is another dragon to be
slayed: Europe.’ Tony Blair,
1997
4. ‘I am a passionate
pro-European. I always have been.’ Tony
Blair, 2005

The England Football, Rugby, Cricket teams - what will happen to them? more
The EU Grand Project is that England will be split up into 9 Regions of a Greater Europe and England will technically no longer exist. (indeed strictly it does not exist now according to the Encyclopaedia Britannica - see 2006-15/a and 2006-15) Currently what is roughly the Home Counties area is called the South East Region - i.e. the SE of England. The boundaries will not follow the historic county boundaries but will deliberately go across them to break them up. When England ceases to exist what will this region be called? It cannot be the SE Region of somewhere that doesn't really exist anymore.
The EC are very reluctant to say and refuse to discuss the subject at all. They have said, however, that they want to take over full control of English and European football. (to be run, no doubt, by faceless bureaucrats who have next to no knowledge of football.)
The SE Region will not be a 'part of England' as there will then be no such place as 'England'. (see 2006-18 of The Europrobe) The current SE Region will eventually be on a par with any other region on the continent. It will be as logical to select an 'English' team from a 'French' or 'Belgian' region as well as from an English region. So how will there be 'England' teams for sport, how will they be selected and what will they be called? Would an 'English' team still be selected from a group of nine Regions while a 'Scottish' team selected from only one? Would the Eurocrats permit such an anomaly? more
The Amendments that were passed (March 2007) were, Amendment 28 of the Ivo Belet Report on European Football.
28 whereas the international dimension in professional football does not correspond with the international dimension recognised within EU structures in that football's governing bodies recognise the separate status of certain EU nations which are not currently recognised as separate Member States of the EU.
What this Eurobabble means is that the UK can only have one football team - not separate England, Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland teams.

From January 1, 2010 it will be a criminal offence for shopkeepers or stallholders to make any reference whatsoever to pounds and ounces, feet and inches. There is a concession at the moment but in four years' time, however, even that concession will be ended. Anyone who dares to say, when talking to his customers, that his potatoes are selling at so much a pound or his cloth so much a yard - even though the price ticket gives this in kilograms or metres and the goods are measured out in metric units - will risk a fine of up to £5,000.
Lord Bragg of Wigton, Melvin Bragg of all people, voted for this when it went through the Lords and was asked how he could have brought himself to vote for such a grotesque curb on our liberties. He claimed to have had no idea he had voted for such a thing and was shocked that he had done so. Its the obscure and disguised way that these EU requirements are drafted and presented that enables them to be slipped through without our representatives and press realising what is going on.

3rd May 2006 In a single bound Tony Blair has saved the political life of Charles Clarke (for a while perhaps)** and the great British public from hundreds of released foreign criminals who are, even as you read this, roaming our streets. Clarke and Blair are not going to mess about any more. From now on they will deport these criminals as soon as their jail sentences are finished. We can all sleep soundly in our beds now - or can we? Are they completely unaware of this latest Directive from Brussels, which Blair has already agreed, will take precedence over British law?
** Stop Press - 5th May 2006 - well, it was for a very short while indeed wasn't it! However John Reid, the new Home Sec., will have the same problem with the EU Directive below as Charles Clarke was going to encounter.

Directive 2004/38 wrecks Clarke’s deportation promises.
According to UKIP Leader Roger
Knapman MEP a European
Directive, which came into force just three days ago, now prevents
Home Secretary, Charles Clarke, from fulfilling his pledge to deport
foreign convicts.
Mr Knapman said that automatic deportation
for EU nationals convicted of criminal offences in the UK are
specifically prohibited by EU Directive 2004/38, which states that
‘Expulsion orders may not be issued by the host Member State as
a penalty or legal consequence of a custodial penalty’.

Ex-Tory MP defects to UKIP
Press Association Thursday April 20, 2006
A former
Conservative MP today announced he was joining the UK Independence
party in protest at Tory leader David Cameron's approach to Europe.
Christopher Gill, Tory MP for Ludlow from 1987 to 2001, was one of
the rebels who voted against then Conservative leader John Major over
the 1992 Maastricht Treaty.
Despite Mr Cameron's recent
dismissal of UKIP as "fruitcakes and loonies and closet
racists", Mr Gill said that many Conservative MPs privately
agreed with the party's Eurosceptic views. Mr Cameron had dragged the
Tories to "a new low" by "playground name-calling"
directed at UKIP.
Mr Gill accused Cameron of relying on the
advice of Europhile "dinosaurs" and disastrous
has-beens from the John Major era, like party chairman Francis Maude,
as well as Lord Heseltine, John Gummer and Kenneth Clarke, who have
been appointed to policy groups and taskforces.
"It is clear
that no argument will move the Conservative party's official position
on Europe, despite many of their MPs privately agreeing with UKIP".
This is very true of many, many Labour voters
who now agree far more with UKIP policies than those of their own
party

Is the European Parliament the new Supreme Soviet? At the beginning of the session on 13th March 2006, Ashley Mote MEP, independent SE England, was permitted a one-minute speech on the subject:
The president (speaker) of the European Parliament, Mr Borell Fontelles (Spanish socialist), recently send a letter to all 732 members pleading for them to take a more active and supportive part in the parliament's business. He complained that most of the time the chamber was almost empty, except when MEPs had to vote or risk not being paid their allowances!
"Mr President, you asked that this Parliament should enjoy a greater commitment from its membership. This is not really a parliament in any sense that the British would understand or recognise. This Chamber looks like the Supreme Soviet, apart from the flags. It conducts business like the Supreme Soviet and the debates here are not debates in any real sense of the word at all.
"As a mere backbencher, if I get one minute – determined by officials and not by knowledge or need – I am lucky. There are no interventions; there is no giving way, nor any chance to challenge and test ideas that have been put forward.
"This place is essentially is an elaborate democratic fig-leaf, and we are all part of a charade."
for much more see Mr Mote's website www.ashleymote.co.uk
The EU masquerades as a Democratic Organisation but it started out originally as a bit of a sham and now is a complete and utter sham - in much the same way as the old Communist East German 'German Democratic Republic' called itself a democracy. The term 'Income Tax' is no longer a useful way of considering what we pay in tax - we should now, perhaps, use the term 'Tax on Income'. It is quite true that he has not put up 'Income Tax' but only in the very strict definition of the term. He has, however, devised and invented some 70 + other taxes that are not strictly 'Income Tax' as defined but still have to be paid out of our income. These 70 + do not include the many other taxes masquerading as 'fines', new licences, increased cost of existing licences and that other tax on income disguised as Council Tax increases - to mention but a few.
