The metric system – love it or loathe it, this is the strange story of how it was imposed on Britain over several decades, by stealth, deception and downright lies.

In recent days, as television news has brought us non-stop reporting on the terrible floods, we have yet again seen evidence of one of the odder things to have happened to Britain in our lifetime. An official of the Environment Agency tells us that some river has burst its banks because it has risen by ‘5.2 metres’, only for a shocked local to tell us that it is ’17 feet higher than normal’.

Some hapless BBC reporter interviewing a flood victim outside his house solemnly informs us that the water is ‘300 millimetres deep’. But only when the homeowner tells us ‘it’s a foot deep in our living
room’ do most of us have an idea of what they are talking about.

What this illustrates us how we now have side by side two quite different systems of weights and measures in this country – one invariably used by government officials and the BBC, the other still used by millions of people because, for most everyday purposes, it seems to be much more sensible and easily comprehensible.

Bosses at Aston University in Birmingham are calling for the UK to remain a member of the European Union (EU) – but have admitted they only want the UK to stay in because they receive money from Brussels.

In a recent statement Aston University was quick to point out the monetary benefits it gets from the EU. Professor Simon Green, who is the director of the Aston Centre for Europe stated: “the funding we get from Europe, which supports our European Bio-energy research among many others, keeps us at the cutting edge of world research, creating the jobs and technologies of the future,” the Birmingham Post has reported.

He added, “I have no doubt that our continuing members of the EU has a great many benefits,” though neglected to mention any.

Professor Green should be able to point out how European Union funding has benefitted him personally however. A project listed on the Aston University research page entitled The Political Challenge of Managing Migration in the UK and Germany shows Prof. Green applied to the EU-funded German academic exchange service (DAAD) for a total of £57,912 on January 23, 2012 and three months later was awarded £62,891 from DAAD.

The attitudes espoused in Green’s research on migration may reflect the same views as his article a year ago for the website The Conversation where he has written on the subject of Germany’s anti-mass migration PEGIDA movement. In the article he calls the leader of PEGIDA Lutz Bachmann a “petty criminal”, accuses the group of being comprised of “extreme right-wing gangs and the neo-Nazi NPD party,” and says PEGIDA does not speak for the “body” of the German public.

Prof. Green also parrots the same rhetoric espoused by corporate banking giant UBS, exposed by Breitbart London, which states, “Germany will need more migrants over the coming decades to mitigate the affects of an ageing population and to plug skills gaps.”

This is essential viewing. I recall warning people that this was on its way some twenty years ago. I could see it coming not because I had inside information but because I read a little history and I understand that history is condemned to repeat itself simply because the human condition is constant and unchanging. Most of Europe has been ruled on this system for centuries. We had the Magna Carta and the Bill of Rights, the absolute antithesis of the European system.  We no longer have that protection because the Queen and her ministers agreed under the terms and conditions of the Treaty of Rome that our law would be subordinate to European law and later with the Lisbon Treaty 2007 they agreed that we would all be made citizens of the EU, or Fourth Reich as it is in reality, and our former status as British subjects subordinate to the obligations, demands and allegiances of that citizenship.

People are confused as to how our soldiers can be charged as criminals for carrying out their duties in combat. This can now happen because they are no longer our soldiers.  The Bill of Rights established the monarch as commander in chief of our armed forces making our soldiers accountable by oath of allegiance only to the monarch and through the monarch to the British people. This was a wise move as should a Parliament become despotic the monarch as sworn official Governor of the nation would have the power to dissolve such a Parliament; only a monarch can mount and dissolve a Parliament. The soldiers oath of allegiance limits him to do no more than protect the monarch from his or her enemies. In return our the armed forces have the protection of the Crown.  Apart from funding, Parliament has no lawful authority over our armed forces what so ever.

With the surrender of the nation’s sovereignty in 1972 the monarch abdicated, there can be no sovereign head of state in a nation that is no longer sovereign. Parliament then assumed the role of commander in chief of our armed forces creating them political mercenaries no longer under the protection of their oath of allegiance. As they are also EU citizens they are now obliged under the demands of that citizenship to serve the Fourth Reich when called upon so to do.

When Gordon Brown signed the Lisbon Treaty he returned trumpeting that he had achieved a number of Red Lines to protect British interests. What he said was absolutely true but he left out the last bit of that sentence. The Red Lines would only be in place for less than 5 years. Was that a lie? It was certainly very deceitful.

Cameron will probably play the same game. He is also a deceitful toad.

ROTHERHAM: THE PERFECT STORM – An investigation in to Muslim grooming gangs

Introduction

I did not intend to publish this, as I could not complete the work I had set out to do, but I have decided instead to write a personal account of an attempt I made to find out how many girls have been groomed, gang-raped, and prostituted by organised gangs in England over the last five years. I do it obviously not to provide ground-breaking statistics – but to contribute to the national discussion on the phenomenon of so-called “Asian” grooming gangs that has been taking place since the publication of the Jay Report in to widespread sexual abuse, gang-rape, and torture of at least 1,400 young girls in the town of Rotherham in Yorkshire.

The first thing to report is that this figure is simply not obtainable by a member of the public, at least not if you hope to be in any way close to accurate. I am not the first to undertake this effort. A similar attempt was made by the office of the Children’s Commissioner in 2012. That investigation also concluded that an accurate figure could not be obtained.

However, in investigating the matter myself, I found widespread and continuing (despite the Jay Report) lack of any coherent recording of or response to organised gang-rape. What stands out particularly is the lack of data held by local authorities, who in almost all cases, kept no numeric data on children under their care who have reported sexual assault or rape. In almost all cases, I was informed that this information could not be provided as it would take authority staff outside of the 18 hour working time they are obliged to perform on freedom of information requests. The reason it would take longer than 18 hours to provide the data, is that it would entail reading separately through the individual files of all children in their care. In other words, even post-Rotherham, most councils are not attempting to separately record sexual assaults on children under their care, or to paint a broader picture of the problem.

SOUTH AFRICA: Poetic Justice for bleeding heart liberals who welcomed Muslim migrants into their home

Two South African white liberals who opened their hearts and their farm to hundreds of Central African Republic Muslim invaders, who were forced to flee their country because of its anti-Muslim policies, have seized the couple’s farm and physically driven them out of their own farm.

New Observer (h/t Marina)  According to a report in local media News24, the two leftists, Andrew and Rae Wartnaby, have been threatened with murder by the same people they had set out to help.

The drama began in July 2015 when the Wartnabys “opened their 20-hectare farm to 143 foreign nationals, including children,” who were displaced during “xenophobic attacks” by South African blacks upon other black illegal immigrants from central Africa.

South Africa—which still is living on the declining remnants of the white-created infrastructure and economy—is an attractive option for central Africans, as it is far more advanced than their own self-created hellholes. Hundreds of thousands have poured across the borders, and local blacks have been incited against them, under the impression that they are going to compete for the rapidly declining number of “jobs” which the white population can provide.

I bought a bird feeder.  I hung it on my back porch and filled it
with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it was, as I filled it
lovingly with seed.
Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the
continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.

But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio,above the table, and next to the barbecue. 

Then came the shit. It was everywhere: on the patio tile,
the chairs, the table …everywhere!

Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own
pocket.

And others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night  and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.

Today I am reading in the Italian media that the Commission wants to beef up Frontex – the EU’s border guards corps, and send them to places like Greece, or any other member state (presumably within Schengen) – even against the will of that member state. This is confirmed by the statement by the Swedish Interior Minister admitting as much in the article linked below:

The frontier guards will of course be equipped with lethal weapons and will operate under the EU’s own flag, and be answerable only to Brussels.
It should be realised that their presence on the territory of a nation-state will therefore amount to a military occupation of that nation-state.
Once a bridgehead has been thus established by Brussels with the stationing of EU frontier guards in a member state, on the excuse that the state in question is unable to control its own frontiers, the road will be open for the European Gendarmerie Force to move in too.

The “United State of Europe” that the EU wants to build will clearly be based on the model of the centralised Napoleonic State, where the enforcers – ie the police – are always paramilitary, lethally-armed, and directly controlled by the central government. Thus their personnel are recruited nationally and then redeployed all over the territory, most usually not in their home towns, and housed locally in barracks. Thus, for example, the French Gendarmerie controls France, the Spanish Guardia Civil controls Spain, and in Italy there are three such bodies, the Carabinieri (military police), the Polizia di Stato (State Police), and the Guardia di Finanza (tax police – also militarised), all deployed all over the territory and each answerable to a cabinet minister (respectively, Defence, Interior, and Finance). Each nation is in effect under military occupation by its own central government. The machinery for a despotic form of government is thus pre-arranged, and readily available to a despot, when and if one comes along (as has happened all too frequently in European history).

So, likewise following the Napoleonic model, the U.S. of E. is to have the Eurogendarmerie to control its own territory – ie the territories of what were once the nation-states. The embryo EuroGendarmerie Force, comprising the militarised police forces of six member states so far, is already up and running. The BBC Trust has decreed that a light-hearted Radio 4 programme by Quentin Letts, “What’s the point of the Met Office”, which included a brief section suggesting that global warming might be a bit exaggerated, broke its guidelines on impartiality. See the verdict here, Quentin Letts’s piece here and commentary from Biased BBC here. The programme has been removed from the BBC iPlayer.

In order to respect the BBC ruling, let’s have no more laughing at the Met Office. So please, no more references to Michael Fish saying we are not going to have a hurricane, and no more mention of the Met Office prediction of a barbecue summer. Henceforth, it is not appropriate to mention the video of Vicky Pope confidently predicting that 2014 would be 0.3C warmer than 2004, a prediction that turned out to be completely wrong. And any satirical comments along the lines of “Here come de heap big warmy” will not be tolerated.

All copies of the audio of the Quentin Letts programme should be deleted, in accordance with BBC guidelines, and if you have a transcript of the programme, please delete it.

And whatever you do, please do not read, publicise or distribute the following transcript of the Quentin Letts programme, produced by Alex Cull, who is now undertaking a re-education course conducted by Cardinal Harrabin.

The Folly of the 5p bag

The Ecotards have achieved another pyrrhic victory with the 5p plastic shopping bag. It is a solution that does not solve the problem and yet again the public have to pay. They have persuaded our feeble minded government to impose a charge of 5p per plastic shopping bag – to save the seas? Certainly that is a very big problem but their solution is quite fatuous.

First it should be noted that the great majority of plastic in the sea and on UK shores is not from UK but of foreign origin.

Campaigners argue that the bags blight streets, spoil the countryside, and damage wildlife, seas and coastline. All absolutely true and they claim that charging the customer 5p per bag will almost eliminate their use and dumping by more than 50%. + £60m savings in litter clean-up costs. + £13m in carbon savings.

But will it achieve the desired result?

My weeks shopping in the 4 x 5p bags contained groceries in 12 other smaller but free plastic bags and plastic containers all of which will go into the bin. How this plan is going to make anything more than about 10% less bags and will only make the very slightest difference to the plastic bag problem in the environment. There will be almost as many bags drifting about the environment as before.
